Q 1. Write a character sketch of Bholi.
Ans : Bholi was nick name sulekha. She was the fourth daughter of Ramlal. She was neither beautiful nor intelligent. She had also pox marks on her face.
Bholi was a simple girl. Nobody like her child-children made fun her. she was loved and cared by her teacher. Her teacher encouraged her to study. Bholi was obedient daughter of Ramlal. He fixed her marriage an old man but she became ready. But When Bishamber Nath demand dowry and insulted her father. She refused to marry him. She became confident and bold due to education.
Q 2. Give a brief Character Sketch of Lencho.
Ans : Lencho is the main character of the story 'a letter to God'. He is a very hard working farmer and works like and ox in his fields. He has firm faith in God and believes that god is watching everything his house was situated on the Christ of a low hill and lived with his family one day his crops were destroyed in hailstones due to his firm faith in God he demanded hundred pesos from God so he wrote a letter to God. He called the post office employees a 'bunch of crooks' as he did not receive the demanded money.
Q 3. Give a brief Character Sketch of the postmaster.
Ans : The postmaster was a gentle and kind person. He was surprised to learn Lencho faith in God. He was a well-behaved and honest person. He realized Lencho grief and decided to help him. He collected money from his colleagues and send it to Lencho. He did not want to shake off Lencho faith in God.
Q 4. Give a character sketch of Horace Danby.
Ans : Horace Danby was an uncommon thief. He made locks. He had two helpers. He was fond of reading costly books. So, he stole a safe every year. He would keep right tools with him. At Shotover Grange he was cheated by a a young lady. She posed herself as the mistress of the house. for her he opened the safe without Gloves. Thus he left his fingerprints. for this theft he was punished.
Q 5. Give a character sketch of Griffin.
Ans : No doubt, Griffin was brilliant scientist. He carried out many experiment and he discovered a rare drugs which could make human body transparent. But he misused his discovery. He stole and looted money from people. He swallowed drugs and become invisible.
His temper was irritable once he set his landlord house on fire. He made Mr. jaffer injure when he want to arrest him. he was a lawless person.
Thus we did not see Griffin as a true scientist.
Q 6. Give a character sketch of Matilda.
Ans : Matilda was a beautiful but unhappy woman. She was born into a poor family and married a simple clerk. She always wanted a rich and luxurious life. She did not like her small house and simple life.
One day, her husband brought an invitation to a big party. She was sad because she had no jewelry. She borrowed a diamond necklace from her friend to look rich. At the party, she was very happy and enjoyed herself. But later, she lost the necklace.
To replace it, she and her husband took a big loan. They worked very hard for ten years to repay the money. Matilda became tired and lost her beauty. Later, she found out that the necklace was fake.
